You've caught me outside once again, but this time I'm building a tree house for my grandkids! Family is important to me.
Strong families are important to the success of the State of Kansas. I'm a firm believer in family values. I want to hand my grandchildren a better state than I inherited.
It was Ronald Reagan that once said...
“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected..." (Inaugural Address, 1967).
Ronald Reagan was right. Just like building a treehouse takes time and effort, building a better tomorrow for future generations takes time and effort...but, it's worth it.
Those of us who work to maintain the strong support of the family unit adhere to certain values...values such as natural marriage, meaning marriage between one man and one women. In addition to supporting natural marriage, I strongly support protecting girls from being forced to compete against those that were born male but now they claim to be female. Common sense tells us that its impossible to change ones biological gender. Allowing these boys to compete in girl's athletics, as some states have done, (we even have some in the State of Kansas that are proposing that), its blatantly unfair and discriminatory to these young ladies who have invested many hours preparing for their competition.
Standing for family values is more than a slogan, it is a belief that I adhere to and will fight to protect.
Well, enough of a break for me. This tree house is not going to build itself! I better get back to work. In the meantime, I ask you to think about what I said. Join me in the fight for a better state and nation. Future generations are counting on us.
